Just passing along some wisdom from an honest veterinarian. When my young Ridgeback bitch was double bit by a copperhead in the face years back he recommended a pink pill for her. Benadryl we all buy at Walmart or where ever. It worked fine for my pup, 2 pills a day for a couple days. She turned out fine
She got double bit night before last in the left hind leg. It swelled up like a baseball bat.
I forced 2 Benadryl (50mg) down her throat that night. 2 again the next day, morning, noon & night.
A total of 8 Benadryl for a double bit 80lb bitch and she's doing well now. Been monitoring closely since the bites. She's chasing ****s & everything else around the property now, thank goodness!!
You have to be careful though. A friend of ours in Wimberley had a lab bit by a rattlesnake. They thought he would be fine and 2 days later it was dead. Always a good idea to take them to the vet.
