A Bass Fishing Resource

For those interested...Livingston Lures has been doing live feed seminars on Thursday evenings. Although I am a pro-staffer with them, my only purpose is to share some resources with everyone. Livingston has been attempting to cover all topics with their Elite and FLW pros, from jerkbaiting, to fishing the shad spawn, to pre & post spawn, to fishing the bream beds. Here's one involving Stetson Blaylock that deals with fishing tough lakes.

The production is not "Hollywood" caliber (it is Skype-style), but is informative...and they do occasionally plug their products throughout the program. Each video is around an hour in length. I'm not going to link every one of them here. Just figured that those who want to see more than the one with Stetson can use the youtube links on the video to pull up the rest. I've learned a little by watching these, as they allow you to get inside the head of the pro and kind of see what makes them tick on the water.

I have learned an incredible amount of information from YouTube videos that pros post from time to time. This source of visual information has so much to offer.

There are several different types of learning styles that work for everyone, and no one learning style is more conducive to all since everyone learns new information at their own pace. Some people are hands-on learners, some can simply just hear new ideas through an audio projection, and some people need to see some kind of visual aid to retain new info. I am some kind of mix between hands-on learning with a few visual aids before I am able to grasp new concepts. By knowing which ingredients are necessary in order to undergo a learning experience, one can more easily go about finding the right sources to provide critical information pertinent to your own growth and goals. For me, YouTube is truly an invaluable resource that fits my own learning style.

Be cautious as to who the creator is of each video you watch. I would be lying if I said that it were impossible to learn something by watching a video created by an unknown source. But there are a bunch of "guroos" out there who think they know it all and relentlessly post video after video of false or biased information. The more videos you watch pertaining to some aspect you are trying to better understand, the more times you will hear the echo of certain facts or viewpoints repeated time and time again. Focus on these common beliefs and use these ideas to form the building blocks of your higher learning. This is one example of a method that has worked for me in my own attempts to more fully understand techniques that I can use to catch fish. Identify your learning style, seek multiple faucets of information from credible sources, and then do your homework so you will be ready to take the exam.

Happy viewing all.

Thanks guys!

Navionics has some webinars that are pretty decent as well www.navionics.com/en/webinar. Some are bass centric, some aren't. I'm looking for an archive of the older ones I've participated in that had helpful info, one regarding crawfish that was really insightful.

One YouTube guy that is pretty good is FlukeMaster. He covers a lot of situations & generally no BS.

Thanks Karl. Flukemaster is a guide in the Austin area. He mainly fishes Lake Austin and Travis, but he has plenty of experience on other lakes and has done several videos covering a wide array of topics from cold weather drop shotting to power fishing grass. The sky is the limit to what you can find online.
