Top bass lakes, Texas 8/100

We must be doing something right in Texas regarding bass lakes. Once again, we have many lakes in the top 100 of the country!

#1 Toledo Bend

#5 Sam Rayburn

#15 Fork

#31 Ray Bob

#42 Falcon

#50 Conroe

#62 Fayette County

#73 Texoma

Way to go all involved in conservation and restoration, it's paying off!

Ray Roberts ranks better than I would have thought...  Might need to check it out someday.

We fished there for the Bassmaster Team - first time on the lake - I kind of like it.  There is a little something for everyone, except the upper end with all the good timber (and where the winning sacks tend to come from), is treacherous if you don't have trails.  And the lanes aren't marked.  SO you have to IDLE forever if you don't have a trail, and then, it still eats a lot of lower units.

Well Squaw Creek blew our "fished them all this year" thing. I have driven by it and been behind its dam several times but never fished it. Actually we (Chevron or actually Gulf at the time) had to reroute a 26" pipeline around it when it was built. Little trivia there. I know!! Nobody cares.
