Yes......... !!!

After working for three weeks...finally found a fish wholesale vendor that has agreed to send two ice trucks to our grass carp tournament on July 9th. The final piece to the puzzle is now in place.

DW...will be sending you the updated registration form this evening to go to print.

Didn't somebody request a fish fry for Seven Coves residents?

The trucks will be there for the entire tournament. The fish will go right from the scales to the trucks.

I do like the fish fry idea.  biggrinbiggrinbiggrin

Will the fish be donated or will the wholesaler take the inventory and sell it?

I left that up to him re: what he does with the fish.

Just didn't seem right to throw all of those fish into a dumpster at the end of the day.

Yes DW, but that idea was thrown out without any consideration. SCBC does not want to help Seven Coves subdivision with anything, even though we have been using the clubhouse at no fee to SCBC.That's how Shelly and  I believe it should be since the club was founded here and named Seven Coves Bass Club. Shelly did suggest the club put on a fish fry to show "Our" appreciation for the use of the club house but, we would not be using those nasty carp or any carp at all. Carp makes great fertalizer, any fish makes great fertalizer.

We picked up trash along FM 830 for 3 yrs I think, then moved our efforts to protecting Lake Conroe, helping feed hungry children twice yearly, and endless other avenues that help the community. A community that they are a part of and have benefitted from whether they realize it or not. I think we as a whole do our fare share.

I say we change the name of our club at the next meeting.

IF i was going to have a fish fry for someone, it wouldn't be with carp. The outfit that is taking the carp is doing us a huge favor, they can make shingles out of them for all I care. We got what we want - a carp removal tournament.

As for a fish fry for Seven Coves Subdivision.... I think I was the one who initially shot it down. But my reasoning was mostly to do with time constraints. I DO appreciate the use of the clubhouse. it's a nice place, and suits us well. But many of the club members have a hard enough time making the occasional meetings, which takes us away on the weekends, and most of us would probably rather spend our free time fishing or hanging with our families. And IF, just IF there was a fish fry, the same small handful of people that participate regularly in non-fishing club activities, would have to plan it, get the fish, do it, etc. I was being totally selfish with my time when I said I would rather have meetings someplace else that was free from obligation.

I agree with Matt, except for the name change bit. We have too much name recognition to let go of it.

Exactly Matt, I think part of the problem is that Seven Coves Assoc. Board members are mostly brand new and they don't know what we've done in the past. The name alone gives free advertising to our subdivision, but sometimes folks don't give a simple thank you, they give thanks by asking for more....

Why is it when I simply suggest something I get jumped???  Go to a board meeting and you will see 2 new members,Shelly Corso and Mr.Curlee(sp?)....Neither of these "new" board members are new to business and money.

When Shelly made an appearance at the club meeting in March and suggested the club do something for Seven Coves subdivision, it was nothing more than a suggestion.Ya'll make it sound like she demanded something from the club for the use of the clubhouse.Shelly stands up for this club, no matter what you might think. All this stuff being said makes me sick to my stomach. I left the last meeting due to the fact that I would not be allowed to clear up what was said at the meeting before that one.Glezman shot me down before the meeting so I left. Someone from the club that is a Seven Coves resident went to the HOA president complaining that Shelly said the club needed to pay for the clubhouse for meetings. That is not at all true,Shelly never said that and I take great offense that club members told the HOA president that she did say that in an open SCBC meeting.I personally talked to the HOA president(former president no longer in office) so I know exactly who said what. I know what this club has done for the communitys on Lake Conroe and I for one will always appreciate the efforts.SCBC is an awesome club with great intentions, for that I will always be gratefull..Nuff said!

We've hijacked the carp tournament post.  I think this issue has enough passion, misunderstanding, understanding, and general hoopla around it to deserve its own topic, so I'll start one.

Kenny is not on the HOA board, never said they were not into business and money, nor did I mention Shelly or anybody elses name for that matter as you did.

Not my personal agenda bud, haven't been to a board meeting in 5+ years and probably won't be at one for another 5 years.
