The TPWD and SJRA are planning a "joint project" to transplant native aquatic plants into Lake Conroe on August 3, 2021 (a Tuesday).
From the 2021 Lake Conroe plant surveys, the TPWD would like to focus on transplanting native aquatic plants in the eastern sections of the lake (north of the 1097 bridge) on August 3rd. A rain out date has been reserved for one week following (August 10th) if needed. The base location for this event will be determined once the plant surveys have been completed (ie Stow A Way, Scott's Ridge, or Cagle).
This planting event will be open to all who would like to volunteer. If you have family, friends, neighbors who can be there, please pass this info along to them.
I will give updates via this thread...and via email as I receive them.
If you (and/or family/friends/neighbors) can be available on August 3rd, please give me a heads up either by responding to this post, or by sending me an email at regunter@consolidated.net, or by texting/calling me at 936*** 524***4413.
Our club has been discussing options during our meetings this year, regarding how to help get back into conservation work on Lake Conroe. This project is a great opportunity for us to do just that.
