On the day before he left office, the outgoing President of the United States had his Director of the US Fish and Wildlife Service declare a complete ban on lead-based ammo and tackle on lands/water controlled by the US government. This declaration was done without any consultation or debate from the country's outdoorsmen. I plan to write my Congressman, and both Texas Senators, to push the new President to freeze this unfounded declaration until opponents to this have been heard. If allowed to go on, any fishing north of the 1097 bridge (in Corps of Engineers waters) on Lake Conroe will fall under this uncontested declaration. Hunting in the Sam Houston National Forest will require steel shot, and copper bullets.
