Read about Gliss line somewhere so I decided to give it a try. Found it on sale at Academy for $12.99 for 150 yrd spool. They had Green and White, I choose 40lb Green.
From Ardent:
Gliss is a new 4th form of fishing line that is produced by a breakthrough extrusion process of high modulus polyethylene fibers. Gliss has qualities of both monofilament and braid. Gliss has zero stretch and the lowest diameter to breaking strength of any line.
Pros: Very thin diameter. ( backed reel with mono and just put on 40yrds ) Smooth like mono or fluorocarbon. Very, Very sensitive. Cast great even in the wind. Color did not come off while spooling reel
Cons: Color started fading in one days use. Seemed to get abrasions easily while fishing rocks (see side note below) Because it is so thin you need to add more line to reel or you will feel the knot where you tied to backing.
Side note: Caught several nice Bass to 4 lbs with the abrasions in the line. Got caught in the rocks and it still took some doing to break the line.
I will continue to use this line to see how it does in the long run. Will stick to the 40 lb but may get some White, then you won't have any fading.
