This Saturday will be round two for our partnership program with the TPWD. We set around 500 blocks this past Saturday that will need to go into the lake on the 24th. We will also finish up the remaining blocks on the 24th, and have them ready to go on the 1st of October. Then we can sit back and enjoy the rest of the year.
Anyone who can make it this coming Saturday will be welcomed with open arms. SJRA nursery site beginning at 8:00am.
...How are they going to transfer the blocks to the lake?...
SJRA plans to launch 'em out of the Coast Guard's place at the end of the dam. If that ends up being difficult, then a back up plan is to go out of Inland. Likely load the first bunch on the boats at the nursery site, and then truck the rest over in waves. A good trailer would help.
If we can finish setting the remaining blocks this weekend, then the TPWD and SJRA will do the droppinig for us next Thursday (of course our club members are invited to help on that weekday as well).
Sadly, no. These blocks are earmarked for the TTBC-funded project. There will be a boat going out this Saturday for TPWD Magazine pics...and we have been invited to supply a couple of members for that trip to enhance the magazine pics.
Looking for some help from someone in the Conroe area that is coming to workday tomorrow. Need someone to rent a concrete mixer and bring it with them. You will be reimbersed tomorrow.
CANCEL REQUEST. I made a few calls and had to go get the mixer this afternoon. See all coming in the morning.
