My wife's father has been dealing with congestive heart failure for the past several years. A couple of nights ago, he fell at home and broke his collar bone. They took him in for some follow up testing this morning (he had not been feeling well since the fall), and the docs are saying that his kidneys are beginning to fail.
So if y'all have some good prayers...please send them our way.
My wife and I would like to thank everyone for your thoughts, prayers, and well-wishes.
The medical staff at St. Luke's have been able to stabilize his situation, and take baby steps towards turning things around a bit. Seems that his congestive heart failure had led to a build up of CO 2 gas in his blood. This evolved into a negative cycle where the CO 2 caused lower energy, which caused shallower breathing, which led to higher CO 2 levels. This caused some of the other problems to manifest themselves...such as the kidney disorder. The medical staff has him on a non-invasive breathing aparatus called a "BiPap" machine (no trachael tubes), and it has helped to lower his CO 2 levels. He's not out of the woods by any means, but at least he's not continuing a downward spiral. As soon as they can get his blood gas levels to a satisfactory state, they will work to get his fractured shoulder fixed from the fall that he took last week.
Thank you again for your prayers.

Thanks Ron for the update and we will continue to have him in our prayers. What a blessing to have this one big caring family of members praying for each other in times of need. As always if there is anything we can do let us know.
