Trailer Axle Repair Question

Anyone ever replace a "square" axle on a boat trailer?  Bought new tires last month for my Champion trailer after having a blowout coming back from TB last month. Got back from Rayburn and my new front left tire on my tandem axle trailer was half bald on the inside tread. Spoke to a couple of places and it seems like the axle may have been bent somehow.

looking for any local repair places - already talked to Odoms - they dont want to deal with square axles apparently.

The folks at Husky trailer will build axles to your spec, last I checked.

Shawn's Boat Service fixed my axles on the Cobra Trailer. I had a bearing completely explode on me and it destroyed the spindle. Shawn replaced the spindle and also converted it from drum brakes to disk brakes, which involved replacing the master cylinder, brake lines, and some wiring. He also sand blasted and repainted the trailer where it was rusting and replaced my bunks.

Someone told me that he's working at Strack's now but he may still do some work on the side. His number is 936-445-0892 and he used to work out of his garage in Walnut Cove.

I too also tried Odom and they pretty much told me that they didn't work on boat trailers.

U-Bolts... plus looks like one more bolt in center of leaf spring through axle.

David, the axle looks like it is bolted to the leaf springs with U-bolts. Also looks like one more bolt going through center of leaf springs into axle.

That center bolt is probably just holding the leaves together.

That is not a bolt, it is a centering pin.
